Emergency services have extinguished a house fire near Ōkere Falls. A Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman said one house on Otaramarae Rd had earlier been “totally involved” in fire.
Three trucks and two water tankers were called to the fire, measuring 10 metres by 15m, about 9.25am. It took firefighters about an hour and a half to extinguish the house fire, the spokesman said. He said the team was still on the scene and dampening hotspots to make sure it didn’t ignite again.
Five fire trucks attended the emergency from Okere Falls, Rotorua, Ngongotaha and Lake Ōkāreka brigades, responded to the call.
A fire investigator has been contacted. All people were accounted for, the spokesman said.
