One man was seriously burnt in a house fire in Broadlands overnight.
Fire service northern communications shift manager Jaron Phillips said staff were called to the Allen Rd property in Broadlands, about halfway between Rotorua and Taupo, about 11.50pm.
Firefighters arrived to find the single story dwelling and the attached garage consumed in fire.
A man had suffered serious, but not life-threatening burns in the blaze, he said.
A rescue helicopter had been called to take him to hospital, Mr Phillips said.
At least two vehicles and a boat housed in the garage were also destroyed, he said.
Fire service staff were working overnight to ensure the fire did not damage any other properties.
