A serious crash on Okareka Loop Rd near Rotorua saw four people taken to Rotorua Hospital yesterday. Two dogs were also injured. A Toyota Celica heading towards the lake about 3.20pm lost control and hit an oncoming Honda sedan, Constable Tony Bennett said. Speed may have been a factor, he said.
The Rotorua Fire Service and the Okareka Volunteer Brigade helped to cut the drivers and passengers from the cars with hydraulic cutting equipment.
