The Fire Force has now been established for over 11 years, providing service to the community in fire protection. The Force now has 16 registered firefighters who, being assigned to a particular vehicle, will give an efficient service in the event of a fire. We are fortunate to include in our team a professional Paramedic and a professional Fireman.
Along with careful training, we are continuously maintaining and upgrading our equipment. We commissioned our new Ford Fire-Engine on 19th December, only 2 days before attending a scrub fire.
Currently, we are training for the annual Lakes Fire Competition between Rotoiti, Tarawera and Okareka. Please support our teams at Stoney Point, Tarawera on Sunday, March 16th at 10:00am.
Our training will soon diversify to include using the water hydrants from the new water reticulation scheme. You will be pleased to know that no Hydrant is more than 135 metres from any property.
We are keen to welcome any person who is interested in joining our rapidly growing team. Our Training night is every Wednesday – 7:30pm
